Ask Nicola.

I've had quite a few questions this week, and some good ones too!  Lets get started.

What would you do if you were the odd one out at school... Would you change the way you are and try to fit in or stay true to who you are no matter how much pressure there is?
- Jasmine
I have actually experienced this one.  When I just started high school, most people thought I was a bit different, I would poke fun at myself to make others laugh.  I was always used to being that way at primary school.  There was pressure to be a different way, but I stayed true to myself, and I know it sounds so conceited saying this, but now everyone likes me for me!  It's well worth the wait.

Well there's this new girl in school and she's really annoying, she's bossy, she boasts a lot and is quite a goody two shoes.  But because of this no one likes her and she's always sitting by herself and sometimes crying (she isn't bullied).  So I feel sorry for her but don't know what to do because I think everyone'll hate me if I become her friend but I don't really like her either!  What should I do?
- Anonymous
I know you feel bad for her, but this might be good for her.  She'll realise that people don't like her because of the way she is.  You shouldn't be friends with someone you don't like - it'll make you feel awful all the time!  She's probably just in shock from starting a new school, maybe she was liked at her old school for being that way, and expected the same at your school.  She'll learn to change, don't worry!

What do you do if you're in love with someone who is taken?
-Anonymous
I know this situation all too well.  The bad thing is, every single time it is my best friend that he is taken with:(.  It's heart breaking to see him love someone else.  Please don't interfere with their relationship - you wouldn't like that either!  If it's meant to be, then eventually you two will be together.  'If you love something, let it go.  If it comes back, it's yours forever.  If it doesn't, it's not meant to be.'

Should schools have uniforms?
-Anonymous
Yes!  My school has one, and quite a strict one too!  Either box pleat or straight skirts between 18" and 22" depending on your height.  Ties at the top and blazers are compulsory.  It gives a sense of unison, almost as if you are the same person, and it means that you don't have to have a new outfit every day.  You should be proud of the school you go to, so you should be proud of your uniform!

To ask a question, please leave your question in the comments of the latest Ask Nicola post.  If you want, feel free to turn on the anonymous option:)

Hope I answered your questions okay!

Ask Nicola & Thank You.

Guess what?  I actually got some questions this week!:D

A big thanks to KuteKitty!  She doesn't have a blogger account, but she has commented some lovely things, and she is the first person to ask me questions!

On with the questions:

1. What did you have for breakfast(I really want to know)?  You can answer that on the day you answer!
I had a toasted english muffin with some egg filler on top, and a mango & passion fruit smoothie:) yummy;)

2. How do you make new friends when you start secondary school? I have friends and 2 new friends but in my form there is this girl who looks nice and we have talked a bit but I don't know how to invite her to join me and my friends or something because I'm shy and she is too. She doesn't have a best friend and only has a couple of people she talks to.
Just go for it!  This is the time when people are very shy, and no-one wants to make the first move!  If you invite her to join you and your friends, just say to her 'hi, I'm (insert name here), do you want to have lunch with us?'  You could even invite the people she talk to as well:)  She'll be glad you did, it breaks the ice between you, and this could be the start of a great friendship!

3. Do you recommend any blogspot sites for me to check out?
Yes, I do!  Any of the blogs I follow are brilliant, a few are:
Life of an Awkward Donkey
Emily's Chronicles
Ebony Black Lines
Un Arc-en Vintage
inkdropperr

I hope you liked my answers, KuteKitty, and thanks so much for asking!

A quick massive thank you to all of you guys, we've now reached 20 followers!  Which can only mean one thing - the giveaway will be going ahead!  The first Back To School post will be coming very soon:)

Lots of happiness and love,
Nicola x

Ask Nicola!

This is the first 'official' Ask Nicola post!  Unfortunately, I did not get any questions, and I think I know why...

Thank you to those of you that alerted me that I had not turned on the 'Anonymous' option!  I know, I know, go ahead and comment; 'silly Nicola!'  Well, I've changed that now, so you can click on it!  My apologies!

So, basically I'm just going to tell you how to ask a question etc.

You can ask a question by:
  • Commenting on one of the Ask Nicola posts
  • Emailing me at nicolasnotebook@hotmail.com
  • Tweeting me on Twitter @nicolasnotebook (link at the side!)

So, if you are going to ask a question, please start it off by saying 'Dear Nicola,' just so that I know you're asking a question for the feature!

If you want me to add your name at the bottom of the question when I put it in the post, then don't turn on 'Anonymous'!  However, if you want to remain anonymous, then feel free to do that:D

If you don't want your question to feature in the post, then just shoot me an e-mail, and I'll reply just to you!:)

You can ask questions about literally anything:
- Problems at school
- Friendship difficulties
- Anything that's worrying you
- Advice on present buying!
- Even something like 'Nicola, what did you have for breakfast today?'

SO, it can be advice questions, or perhaps something that you want to know about me!

I hope to hear from you soon!

I'm an Agony Aunt?!

I've decided to introduce a new feature to the blog, which is called

I am a natural advice-giver.  I've been through a lot, and I've decided to put my experience to good use. I'm forever telling my friends what they can do to sort situations out, and I'm even giving advice to people I hardly talk to!  I really listen to what people have to say, and I love cheering people up and helping them.

I can answer nearly all questions.  Like school (primary and secondary), bullying, friendship problems, boy trouble (though not quite 'dating' and 'first kiss' who knows, maybe soon;)! but I have been through a lot with 'crushes' and definitely when your friendship comes into your love life.), perhaps even what to get your mum for her birthday!  But I will say if I'm unable to answer questions (which probably wont happen)!

I have a new tab up at the top of the blog, and I'm basically going to have posts labelled 'Ask Nicola' go there, but it will come up on your feed!  If you want to ask a question (or a few!) then leave a comment there starting 'Dear Nicola,'.  I will then gather the questions for the week and answer them on a Sunday.  I know some questions can be personal, so please feel free to turn on the 'Anonymous' feature if that's the case.  If not, then I will put your name at the bottom of the question in the post!

So, ask away and I will post next Sunday! (26/8/12)
